The Centraal Justitieel Incassobureau (CJIB) translates as the Central Fine Collection Agency and is an implementing organisation of the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice.
Our tasks include the collection of fines for traffic offences, financial penalties imposed by the Court and proposals for out-of-court settlements of fixed penalties from the police and the Prosecution Service as a means to avoid further criminal proceedings. The majority of the questions we receive relate to such cases.
In order to answer these questions as accurately as possible, this website provides explanations for the expressions we use in correspondence, directs you to the correct department and clarifies the most important procedures we applie when dealing with cases.
