Central Authority

The Central Fine Collection Agency (Dutch abbreviation: CJIB) is an implementing organisation of the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice.
Explicitly; the CJIB is an integral part of the Department of Justice for which the Minister of Security and Justice carries responsibility. In our daily work we have to answer to the Directorate-General for the Administration of Justice and Law Enforcement.
The Public Prosecutor is the principal assignee for the CJIB and most tasks the CJIB performs fall under the auspice of the Public Prosecutor. The Public Prosecutor is an independent organisation for which the Minister of Justice is ultimately responsible.

Tasks are assigned to the CJIB in relation to the execution of various regulations, ranging from the collection of traffic fines, criminal fines, confiscation orders, compensation measures, out-of-court-settlements, punitive decisions, administrative fines and European fines to the national coordination of custodial sentences and arrest warrants and the coordination of community service orders.
