You have received mail from the Centraal Justitieel Incasso Bureau (CJIB)

The Centraal Justitieel Incasso Bureau (CJIB) translates as the Central Fine Collection Agency and is an implementing organisation of the Dutch Ministry of Justice.

The CJIB’s tasks include the collection of fines for traffic offences, financial penalties imposed by the Court and proposals for out-of-court settlements of fixed penalties from the police and the Prosecution Service as a means to avoid further criminal proceedings. The majority of the questions the CJIB receives relate to such cases.
In order to answer these questions as accurately as possible, this website provides explanations for the expressions we use in correspondence, directs you to the correct department and clarifies the most important procedures the CJIB applies when dealing with cases.

The CJIB’s notice provides information about the nature of the case:

Is there an M in the top right corner of the letter?  
Then it concerns a traffic fine

Is there an S in the top right corner of the letter?
Then it concerns a fine imposed by the Court

Is there a  in the top right corner of the letter?
Then it concerns a proposal for an out-of-court settlement of a fixed penalty
