The Central Fine Collection Agency (CJIB) is an implementing organization of the Dutch Ministry of Justice.
The agency's tasks include the collection of fines for traffic fines imposed by the Court and proposals for out-of-court settlement of fixed penalties from the police and the prosecution service as a means to avoid further criminal proceedings. The majority of questions received by the CJIB relate to such cases. That is why this site offers a translation of the most important terms used in correspondence and an explanation of the most important procedures that the CJIB follows when dealing with these cases in question.
